Double Helix will act as a controller for your Personal Information and may be collected from the following sources: (i) from you, the User, directly; (ii) through your use of Our Site or Services; (iii) from content and advertising third parties with whom you have interacted on our Site; and (iv) from third parties who lawfully provide it to us.

 

Double Helix collects the following categories and types of Information: (i) the registration information (e.g. name, email, address, user ID and password, and payment information), (ii) DNA genetic information (i.e. the genomic analysis, resulting in reflecting your genotype and presented in a report containing genetic data provided by a collaborating third party laboratory) (iii) self-reported information (i.e. the information you provide to us, whether personally, or through the Platform’s Services, or through third-party, including disease conditions, other health-related information, personal traits, ethnicity, family history, and other information that you enter into surveys, forms, or features while signed into account or that you authorize a third party to provide to Double Helix. (iv) user content (i.e., all information, data, text, audio, photographs, graphics, video, messages, or other materials, transmitted, whether publicly or privately, to or through the Platform. (v) web behavior information (i.e., browser type, domains, page views, collected through log files, cookies, and web beacon technology.)

 

We will process your Information to provide you with our Services, create your account, dispatch your DNA test kit, process your payment, analyze your biological Sample and provide your results. 

 

We will only Process your Sensitive Personal Information with your prior, written, and express consent in order to provide you with the Services in terms of the agreement entered with you. 

 

As we generally process Personal Information for the following:

  1. To facilitate, operate, enhance, and provide our Services.

  2. To provide our Prospects, Users, and Customers with assistance and support, to test and monitor the Services, diagnose or fix technical issues, and train our Users and User-facing staff.

  3. To invoice and process payments.

  4. To personalize our Services, including by recognizing an individual and remembering their information when they return to our Services, and to provide further localization and personalization capabilities.

  5. To gain a better understanding of how Users and Prospects evaluate, use, and interact with our Services, to utilize such information to continuously improve our Services, the overall performance, user experience, and value generated therefrom. We collect such information automatically through their usage of the Services.

  6. To create aggregated, statistical data, inferred non-personal data, or anonymized or pseudonymized data (rendered non-personal), which we or others may use to provide and improve our respective Services, or for any other business purpose such as business intelligence.

  7. To facilitate and optimize our marketing campaigns, ad management, and sales operations, and to manage and deliver advertisements for our Services more effectively. Such activities allow us to highlight the benefits of using our Services and thereby increase your engagement and overall satisfaction with our Services. This includes contextual, behavioral, and interest-based advertising based on User and Prospect activities, preferences, or other data available to us or to our Services Providers, and business partners.

  8. To contact our Users, Customers, and Prospects with general or personalized Services-related messages, as well as promotional messages that may be of specific interest to them.

  12. To publish your feedback and submissions to our Sites, public forums, and blogs;

  13. To comply with our contractual and legal obligations and requirements, and maintain our compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards; and

  14. For any other lawful purpose, or another purpose that you consent to in connection with provisioning our Services.

 

We use the information in providing the services, to answer the Users’ requests, and for billing and account management causes.

 

Your Personal Information may only be shared (i) with our service providers, allowing them to provide their services to us and you. (ii) with qualified research collaborators, only if you provide your explicit consent.

Our Helpdesk staff and engineers may access this information in a limited and reasonable manner in order to preserve the maintenance or to solve any issue with our services, or at your explicit request for support reasons, or as required by law, or to ensure the security of our services in case of violation of our Acceptable Use Policy in order to keep our services secure.

Our team regularly reviews and improves our security practices to help ensure the integrity of our systems and your information. (ii) we will not share your data with any public databases. (iii) we will not provide any person’s data (genetic or non-genetic) to an insurance company or employer. (iv) we will not provide information to law enforcement or regulatory authorities unless required by law to comply with a valid court order, subpoena, or search warrant for genetic or Personal Information.
